Enhancement of pumping efficiency in 8-core double-clad optical fibre doped with Nd3+

In the paper the new construction of 8 – core optical fiber doped with Nb3+ is presented. The influence of constructional parameters of the optical fibre on efficiency of pumping has been analyzed. As a result of the conducted analysis a double-clad optical fiber with 8- core doped with neodymium was designed and fabricated. Manufactured fiber is characterized by higher effective absorption coefficient than classical double - clad optical fiber, which leads to enhancement of pumping efficiency fabricated multicore fiber.
