Improvement of intelligent cyclic ADC resolution by randomisation of DAC INL errors

The paper presents a new method of improvement of resolution of intelligent cyclic A/D converter (ICADC). One of the key factors influencing performance of ICADC is integral nonlinearity (INL) of the internal digital-to-analog converter (DAC). In the paper there is discussed a method of reduction of DAC’s INL errors on ICADC performance using their randomization and averaging. Effectiveness of the developed method was confirmed in simulation experiments.
