Incoherent optical MIMO transmission over multimode fibers

The paper presents a concept of increase capacity of multimode fibers by using MIMO technique, which is very well known from radio transmission (standard IEEE 802.11n). This is possible due to some analogy between a phenomen of signals mutlipath propagation, which occur at the wireless transmission, and a modal dispersion which is present in multimode fibers. The modal dispersion is a result of propagation a light in those fibers as many modes.
