FPGA firmware for 64-channel ultrasonic data acquisition card

In this master thesis firmware for 64-channel ultrasonic data acquisition card is described. It is a part of Universal Ultrasonic Platform. The main task of the device is to perform medical imaging and non-destructive tests. The project is realized in The Department of Ultrasound in Polish Academy of Sciences within the POIG 2007-2013 project.

Ultrasonic data acquisition card utilizes FPGA device (Altera Stratix IV) that receives data from two specialized 32-channel ultrasound analog front-end receiver modules. Then the data is stored in external DDR3 memory. Optionally, data can be processed by FPGA or directly send to graphic cards using PCI-Express gen 2.0 interface.
