Analysis and Modelling of Mice Behaviour in Python.

The IntelliCage system produces abundant behavioural data. However, the software provided with the system allows only for basic analyses. To maximize extraction of information from the data obtained in complex experimental paradigms in the system we are developing methodology and a dedicated Python framework for advanced analysis of these data. We also develop techniques to assess how well a given formalised model explains the observed behaviour of mice. Such an approach allows us to quantitatively estimate how well we understand the mechanisms behind the data. In my talk I will demonstrate use of our tools in an investigation, whether mice tend to follow or avoid their inmates when exploring or exploiting their environment.
