Nanocomposite carbonaceous-palladium (C-Pd) layers are promising materials for hydrogen and hydrogen gases sensors, it is connected with highly selective hydrogen absorption by palladium nanocrystallites. Nanostructural C-Pd layers were deposited on alundum substrate with silver electrodes. These C-Pd layers were prepared in a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process and were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and special build equipment to measuring resistance in gas presence.
The possibility of application of C-Pd films as active layers in hydrogen and hydrogen gases sensors was also studied.
