Strain simulation in face turning of Ti6Al4V thin-walled parts

An analysis of the part deformation at the front turning of the grooves was presented. A face-grooving process was performed for the disc-shaped part. The simulation was adopted as a workpiece of titanium alloy Ti6Al4V. Computer calculations were performed using MES in NX Siemens. Simulation of variable wall thickness and variable values of cutting forces were performed. Based on the analysis of the test results, the dependence of the direction of the cutting force on the value of the deformation has been determined.
