Real-time tomographic data analysis on FPGA devices

Data analysis towards tomographic image reconstruction will be presented using Jagiellonian PET (JPET) as an example. Data acquisition system processes 1536 channels in a continuous readout mode generating a constant stream of up to 1GBps. This stream is processed by a Zynq based board that performs event building, filtering, coincidence search and Line-Of-Response (LOR) reconstruction, which leads to one of the basic image reconstruction algorithms - Back Projection. All those steps are performed by a single FPGA device, in real-time.
