Simplifications in the inter prediction algorithms in the H.265/HEVC encoder

The H.265/HEVC compression standard is a state of the art solution for both picture and video coding. The plurality of available prediction modes and coding tools leads to significant increase of encoders' computational complexity compared to previous standards, especially in high resolutions. Simplifications, aimed to decrease computational complexity of the enocder, are proposed. As the acceleration of the encoding is associated with the losses in the efficiency, the impact of proposed simplifications on encoding efficiency is inspected.
